Credit Card Concerns Persist Online
added: 2007-09-13

Only 6.4% of Internet users say they are not at all concerned about using their credit cards online, according to the USC Annenberg Center for the Digital Future.

That is only a slight rise from the 5.5% who said the same in 2001.

Although far more Web users now make online payments with credit cards, most remain at least somewhat concerned about such usage.

Serious concern about online credit card use has actually dropped somewhat from 2001, although over one-half of all Web users said they were still very or extremely concerned.

In 2001, 71.3% of Internet users said they were very or extremely concerned about the use of credit cards online.

Despite overall concerns about online security, credit cards have remained the payment method of choice for most e-commerce transactions.
